ARCHAEOLOGIST Robert Lancaster will talk about archaeological finds at Broadmayne and Whitcombe over the last 60 years at Broadmayne Village Hall tomorrow (21) from 10am to 12pm.

He will talk about and show pictures of the important treasures found in 1967, together with other evidence of habitation in Broadmayne over thousands of years.

Many historical remains found in the village, together with past and recent excavations at Whitcombe, including a skeleton, will be there.

The researched results of a recent ‘dig’ which was lead by Robert at manor farm, will be displayed and the findings explained.

Local History Broadmayne would like to hear from any former Broadmayne School pupil, who may remember taking part in the School organised ‘dig’ in 1967. Email them at localhistorybroadmayne@gmail.com

The public are invited to bring their own treasures for Robert, Barry Fitzgerald and other knowledgeable volunteers from the Dorset County Museum, to identify. Entry is £3 including refreshments and it's free for under 16s.
