THE Watkins and Swarbrick band will take to the stage for two gigs in and around Weymouth.

They will perform at Portesham Village Hall on Saturday, March 3 at 8pm.

Next they will perform at the Old School Hall in Upwey on Friday, March 16 at 8pm.

The band is returning to Portesham after performing to a full house in 2016. They are known for the different routes they take in their music.

Ken, Simon, Lucy and Angela perform songs and tunes inspired by folk and country music, as well as blues and jazz standards.

Expect sensitive and extraordinary playing of guitars, fiddle, mandolin and ukulele, plus some lovely mellow vocals and rich 3-part harmonies that have been described as ' a wonderful blend'.

Throw in some lively banter, a bit of off-beat humour and a relaxed approach and you have a truly entertaining evening.

The band's policy is not to charge admission; instead, the audience are asked to pay what they like at the end of the performance. Advance booking is essential from the box office on 01305 837299 or email songsfromthehalls234@gmail.com.

Bring your own drinks and glasses. Doors open from 7.30pm. CDs will be on sale.
