MUSICIANS Emily Burridge and Felix Gibbons are taking their jazz, folk and classical sounds on a tour of rural Dorset.
They will perform together as Incandescendo and will play at Ibberton and Fontmell Magna.
Individually Emily and Felix have worked alongside a host of musical luminaries including George Michael, Roger Daltry, Jools Holland, The Specials, Peter Gabriel and many more.
This spring the duo is set to tour Dorset with Artsreach, as Incandescendo; a musical kaleidoscope of jazz, world, folk and classical influences.
Emily is a virtuoso cellist, whose deft improvisational and composing skills create sublime music, fluidly crossing genres. Internationally acclaimed percussionist Felix has been playing for more than 20 years now, doing everything from samba and salsa to bhangra and pop with everyone from Milton Nascimento, to Peter Gabriel. Together as Incandescendo, with Emily on cello and Felix on Latin percussion and Bossa guitar, the duo present a new show featuring clever use of modern sampling technology, which enables them to expand their compositions and create exciting multi tracked pieces.
Spinning a web of intricate harmonies and rhythms, highlighted by some dazzling displays of improvisation, their concert program includes arrangements of Brazilian classical and popular music, samba and choros and an array of new works for cello, percussion and guitar.
Expect a memorable musical experience as the duo perform in Ibberton (01258 817269) at 7:30pm on Saturday February 17 and Springhead in Fontmell Magna (01747 811853) at 4pm on Sunday March 18. Further details and tickets are available from artsreach.co.uk
