AN ENCHANTING Christmas story from France comes to Toller Porcorum tomorrow (1).

Silver Moon will be brought to the village by Compagnie Animotion. It's the only performance in England of this show and come to Dorset courtesy of Artsreach, the county's touring arts charity.

This masked performance tells the story of two very different children; a little Polish girl, Helda and a rich diplomat's son, Jurgen, whose adventures together break down class barriers on Christmas Eve. Helda is cold and alone.

She may be poor, but her imagination is filled with her grandfather's folk tales taught to her through the enchanting voice of the cello. Jurgen is surrounded by beautifully wrapped presents but needs a friend to help make his everyday magical. Once Jurgen has invited Helda to warm herself by the fire, Helda takes him on this journey of creation and fantasy. When the clock strikes midnight and the silver moon is high in the air, the two friends will never be the same again...

A magical and touching story, Jurgen learns that friendship cannot be bought and that imagination is the dearest thing to us.

Using live music, shadow puppetry, and masked play, see Silver Moon at Toller Porcorum Village Hall near Dorchester on Friday December 1 at 6pm. Call 01300 320373 for tickets or go to artsreach.co.uk
