SPANISH guitarist and composer Eduardo Niebla is performing a show in Cerne Abbas and Portesham next weekend.

He is embarking on an Artsreach tour of Dorset this autumn with his exhilarating mix of flamenco jazz fusion.

This UK tour sees Eduardo preview music from his highly anticipated new album, plus tracks from an extensive back catalogue.

In a career spanning four decades, guitar virtuoso and composer Eduardo Niebla has been acclaimed as one of the most potent forces in flamenco jazz fusion today.

His highly lyrical style, with explorations into Indian, Arabic and classical music, has resulted in the most electrifying, brilliant and poignantly poetic guitar playing on the world circuit.

Eduardo’s concert appearances have included the Cairo & Tbilisi International Jazz Festivals, the Jaipur Festival India, the Queen Elizabeth Hall London, the Odessa Jazz Carnival, the Olympic Games Greece, the San Isidro Fiesta Madrid, Glastonbury and the Brecon International Jazz Festivals, as well as concert tours to Europe, the Baltic States, the Middle East and South Africa.

It’s a journey which has led to many collaborations with artists across the globe including: sitar maestro Nishat Khan, the late Lol Coxhill (sax), Palestinian oud player Adel Salameh, trance phenomenon Juno Reactor and pop musicians George Michael & Craig David. He has recorded 23 albums of his original compositions and written music for films, documentaries and plays, including for the BBC, as well as Festival commissions.

Artsreach co-director Kerry Bartlett said: “Eduardo is due to release a new album imminently, and we can’t wait to be part of this UK tour. Bookings have been coming in since our programme launched in September, and we anticipate it being a real highlight of the season.”

For this tour, Eduardo takes to the stage brilliantly accompanied by guitarist Daniel Martinez Lopez and Indian tabla player Dharmesh Parmar.
