THREE artists will be exhibiting their latest paintings that explore and exploit colour in a variety of ways at Lyme’s Town Mill Galleries in coming days.

Philip Clayton and Duncan Harris, in their second joint effort, will showcase their recent landscapes in a semi-abstracted style that places full emphasis on colour and on our responses to its vividness.

Their showcase at the Malthouse Gallery runs from November 2 to 15 and both artists will often be in attendance to discuss their work with visitors.

Over at the Courtyard Gallery, from November 3 to 8, Russian-born but Lyme-based portrait artist Maria Barbashina will be holding a solo exhibition of her engaging portraits and vibrant still lifes.

As she explains, “My Russian art education provided me with the classical skills of depicting the object, while studying in England has since added an emotional dimension to my work.”

These exhibitions will be open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm, admission is free and further details can be found on the website townmillarts.co.uk
