A MAGICAL evening of fairy mayhem will take place in Weymouth.

A Dreamy Late Summer's Eve is an early evening event at Sandsfoot Castle and Gardens for all the family full of things to do or experience with a magical theme.

It will be held from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday August 19.

There will be lots of pop-up performances, music, games, stalls, food and drink.

Come in costume if you choose - with a Midsummer Night’s Dream/Fairy Tale/Pirate feel, and enjoy this unique Jurassic Coast, Tudor castle location with its breath-taking views from Sandsfoot across Chesil, to Portland.

Bring rugs, cushions or chairs, and a picnic - or buy food at the café; but no alcohol as you can drink at thegood value Flower Bower Bar with Titania and Oberon serving.

The line-up of entertainment includes the New Hardy Players performing The Mummers Play from Return of the Native; Damaris Fowler in magical voice with acoustic guitar; Let’s Dance Weymouth, Portland Dance, and Weymouth School of Ballet and Performing Arts directed by Tanya Lonergan in The Fairy Woodland Dance Part 1. 2. & 3; the soulful sound of The Scott Singers.

In the Storytelling Corner, Sophie Cridland with Spirit, the Wise Mother Owl; actors from Arts University Bournemouth, Chester Wallace, and Goldsmith University, Clare Phelan bring to life Titania and Oberon in The Argument; The Sandsfoot Community Ensemble as The Mechanicals.

Be transformed by Debbie Cridland’s Creative Face Painting; Pin the Tail on the Donkey; enjoy Cobweb and Peasblossom’s The Fairy and Pirate Trail. Also be prepared to meet some Ugly Pirates, Gorge on Fairy Cakes, and win prizes on the raffle, and tombola.

The evening is in aid of award winning, AsOne theatre company's not for profit community projects in schools, libraries and prisons throughout Dorset, and into five counties of Wessex.
