The town will really come alive this weekend with the seafood festival. But if that's not your thing, there's something else here to tempt you.

*WEYMOUTH and Portland's premier festival arrives this weekend.

The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival takes place at Weymouth harbour tomorrow and Sunday.

This year's festival features around 100 stalls and marks the 10th anniversary of the popular seafood celebration. There will be two main stages featuring much loved local seafood heroes and national chefs.

Brand new this year is Fishy Tales - the first live and interactive celebrity seafood discussion panel, entertainment for all the family with Kermiz by Le Cirque du Platzak and the opportunity to hop on board HMS Severn, a large Royal Navy off shore patrol vessel.

See dorsetseafood.co.uk for more information.

*THERE'S two musical dates for your diary in Dorchester's Borough Gardens this weekend.

Grab your picnic basket and pack the Prosecco as the Durnovaria Silver Band will perform this evening (7) from 6pm

If that isn't enough, enjoy Swingtime in the Gardens in the park from 12pm on Sunday.

*KATE Bush fans will be flocking to Dorchester tonight to enjoy the vocal talents on show in Cloudbusting.

Cloudbusting recreates Kate’s distinctive sound palette with the most authentic emulations available: the electric grand from the Tour Of Life, the chugging cellos from Hounds of Love, the sublime fretless bass from Babooshka.

It's at the Corn Exchange, Dorchester, from 8pm tonight. Call Dorchester Arts or Dorchester TIC for tickets.

*LEARN more about the fascinating history of Milton Abbey with an interactive exhibition at the abbey, which begins today. (7)

The exhibition will display award winning paintings and photography, film and embroidery by The National Guild of Embroiderers. There will also be games for children.

It's open until August 31 and makes for a fun day out for visitors who can admire the Capability Brown-created landscape.

See capabilitybrownatmiltonabbey.org for more information.

*See some gorgeous gardens in Upwey, Weymouth, tomorrow and Sunday between 2pm and 6pm both days. There will be a good range of gardens open, from the small to the very large, and all very different from each other.

There will be some extra attractions this year: a sprinkling of craft stalls, a demonstration from our local potters, a display of vintage vehicles, live music from BitterSweet Harmony and The Care Free Choir. You can also enjoy an art exhibition in the Old School Hall. It costs £4 a ticket. Call 07917 135729 for more information.
