JANE Austen is to be celebrated by Dorchester Drama.

This year marks 200 years after the iconic author's death and her writing is as popular as ever.

Her books are read by thousands, her stories are turned into some of the best television and films, and her work spawns such varied epics as Death comes to Pemberley, P.D James masterly follow up to Pride and Prejudice, Longbourn, the story of the Bennett’s servants, and Pride, Prejudice and Zombies.

In light of this, Dorchester Drama is performing Austensibility, a dramatised reading by Alan Richardson at Sunninghill Community Hall in Dorchester twice, followed by a third performance at Kingston Maurward College on Saturday July 22 at 7.30pm.

Drawn from many excellent biographies including a memoir by her nephew, from letters written by and to Jane, and show casing dramatised excerpts from her many novels, published and unpublished, this production promises to show you Jane Austen in all her flavours and colours.

Dorchester Drama will present drama for your delectation, dance for your delight, and declame for your diversion. They want everyone to leave at the end of the evening with a smile on their face, and a new snippet about Jane to enjoy.

This show is for dedicated Janeites and Austen virgins alike. Come and spend an evening with Elizabeth Bennett, the saucy Lady Susan, the Beautiful Cassandra, and the Austen family themselves.
