Enjoy music, festivals, shows and open days this weekend with plenty in store in expectation of some good weather. Here’s your Guide to the weekend.

n CELEBRATE the music of 1980s super group The Traveling Wilburys in Weymouth.

Roy Orbison and The Traveling Wilburys tribute comes to the pavilion tomorrow from 7.30pm.

With the Wilburys never actually going on tour perhaps due to the untimely death in 1988 of Orbison, played by Paul Hopkins, their fans never got to see them all together in a live concert, but this is the chance to see the next best thing. Contact the box office for tickets.

n TAKE the lead by attending Weldmar Hospicecare’s Family Dog Show in Dorchester tomorrow.

It will be held from 12pm to 4pm at the meadow, in the Joseph Weld hospice, Dorchester. Classes include Handsome Dog Pedigree, Prettiest Bitch Pedigree, Best Cross Breed and Best Terrier.

The show features a display and ‘have a go’ course with Watercombe dog agility, plus there will be Classic Cars from the Weymouth Vehicle Preservation Society. Entrance is £1 for adults and under 16s go free.

n THERE are exciting events for all ages to enjoy with Bridport Food Festival beginning on Sunday and running until June 17.

Throughout the week there will be the opportunity to sample dishes and specialities on a Taste Trail and take tours of the town’s historic Palmers Brewery.

On Sunday, enjoy Open Farm Sunday at Washingpool Farm near Bridport between 10am and 4pm. Entry is free.

Other events throughout the week include a Walk on the Wild Side, a tour of Leakers Bakery, an Indian Cookery Masterclass and a tour of Liberty Orchards in Halstock. The main event of food stalls and demonstrations is at Askers Meadow on Saturday June 17. See bridportfoodfestival.co.uk

n A FREE Open Day is being held at Kingston Maurward College on Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Visitors can experience new skills in free taster sessions. There will be food, crafts and displays including a Novelty Dog Show.

n POP into the foyer of Tesco on Portland on Sunday between 10am and 4pm to see an exhibition on Weymouth & Portland Parks and Gardens. Many of Weymouth and Portland’s parks, gardens, trails and open spaces have a long and fascinating history.

n SEE works of art by local artists at St Peter’s Festival at St Peter’s Church, Long Bredy, Dorchester, on Sunday between 2pm and 5pm.

This is an exhibition of flowers, wedding dresses and paintings from local artists. There will also be stalls, refreshments and parking.

n ENJOY a thrilling one-woman Flamenco dance-theatre show with Salud at Briantspuddle Village Hall tomorrow evening at 7.30pm. Expect passion, drama and duende and more! Call 01308 485772 for tickets.

n MARVEL at an exhibition of warships made of matchsticks at the Nothe Fort, Weymouth, beginning tomorrow and running until June 25. It’s open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
