BLUES artist Geoff Achison is set to perform at Evershot Village Hall on April 1.

He will team up with Sam Kelly and the UK Souldiggers for the gig, which is at 8pm.

Geoff has just won five awards in the Australian Blues Awards 2017 – Best Album, Best Song, Best Artist, Best Group and Best Producer!

It has been four years since Geoff last toured in Europe but he is now ready to return again with renewed zest and a brand new album Another Mile Another Minute.

He is supported by his UK Souldiggers - internationally acclaimed drummer, Sam Kelly (Cymande, Roger Chapman, Gary Moore, Chaka Khan, Madeline Bell) keys man, Paul Jobson (Boney M, Hamish Stewart, Linda Lewis, Bad Manners, Noel McCalla and the Anti Nowhere League) plus bassman, Andy Hodge (We Will Rock You, Raw Glory, Bootleg Blondie).

In early 2007, Geoff accepted an offer to relocate from Australia to the USA. He spent two eventful years living and working in the US performing with local musicians and racking up thousands of miles on the road.

Highlights included jamming with the iconic Les Paul in New York City and joining legendary R&B vocalist, Delbert McClinton aboard his annual Sandy Beaches concert cruise, sailing from San Diego to southern Mexico.

After returning to Australia in 2009, the relentless touring continued with regular visits to the USA, UK and Europe.

The tireless travel kept fans enthused and gleaned several live CD releases from different corners of the world.

The title of his last studio recording was 2009’s One Ticket, One Ride, but in more recent times, his album releases Boc of Blues (with Chris Wilson), the acoustic Live at Burrinja Café’ and the electric Live at Guitars Across the Bay each scooped the pool at both the 2012 and 2013 ‘Vic Tas’ blues awards. Meanwhile, his ‘Little Big Men’ album has been re-issued in the US and Europe to renewed critical acclaim.

Also in 2012, Geoff was named as one of the Top 50 Australian guitarists in Australian ‘Guitar’ magazine
