MATT Bianco’s Mark Reilly and New Cool Collective celebrate the launch of their collaboration album, The Things You Love, with a new UK tour which includes a date in Poole next month.

Matt Bianco first came to fame in the early 1980s with the world-renowned 1984 album, Whose Side Are You On?

This was followed by a string of hit singles such as Get Out of Your Lazy Bed, Half a Minute and Sneaking Out the Back Door.

New Cool Collective, known as the pioneers of the Dutch jazz scene, have been together for 24 years, mastering an unmistakable mix of jazz, Latin and afrobeat.

The group is known for its “discography” which includes all kinds of sounds and collaborations. Whoever the band plays with, New Cool make its mark as an endlessly swinging, virtuoso, dynamic music machine.

There will also be support from Thokozile Collective, a Bournemouth-based world jazz quintet.

This quintet is described as having “a burgeoning reputation who play vibrant, melodic world-influenced tunes with a distinct jazz twist”.

Their debut album is scheduled for a June 2017 release, and a number of festival appearances have already been confirmed for the summer.

Matt Bianco Meets New Cool Collective is at Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday, April 8 at 7.30pm.
