FROM the company that brought Mozartissimo and A History of Opera to the county town, Dorchester Arts welcomes the return of Swansea City Opera on Saturday March 18 for A Night of Romantic Opera.

The captivating show, which begins at Dorchester Corn Exchange at 8pm, will transport audiences into the world of romantic opera.

It features a cast of four singers drawn from the major national and international opera houses.

Enjoy an enchanting evening of arias and ensembles accompanied by piano and performed by a carefully selected cast of singers from the major national and international opera houses.

The programme includes music from some of the most loved composers including Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Mozart and many more.

As ever, Artistic Director of SCO, Brendan Wheatley will host the evening, introducing the ravishing music of the great romantic composers in his own inimitable style.

This is the third visit to Dorchester for the acclaimed Swansea City Opera.

The programme includes well-known opera ‘hits’ such as: O mio babbino caro from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Je veux vivre from Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Habanera from Bizet’s Carmen, Mon coeur s’ouvre a ta voix from Saint-Saëns’ Samson & Delilah, Recondita armonia from Puccin’s Tosca – Scene Act 1 from Puccini’s Boheme, Soave il vento –the famous trio from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, duet from Delibes’ Lakme, Porgy & Bess duet from Bernstein’s Porgy & Bess, duet from Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers
