CANADIAN songwriter Stephen Fearing is rocking into a village near Weymouth with his Donald Trump protest song.

He will be venting his spleen at the Mission Hall, Sutton Poyntz, on Friday February 17 from 8pm.

Multiple award winner Stephen is not bound by any particular musical genre and his new album Every Soul’s A Sailor continues this exploration of various musical forms.

It includes protest song, Blowhard Nation, in which he vents his sarcastic outrage at Donald Trump's Presidential campaign.

Stephen said: “My desire to write this song came from an instinctual reaction to the politics of hate."

Stephen is one of the foremost performing singer-songwriters in Canada.

Mixing powerful lyrics, creative arrangements and brilliant guitar playing, with a dusky baritone vocal, he has built up a loyal and dedicated international audience with a wide range of songs.

A founding member of Canadian roots rock super-group, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, Fearing has also collaborated with many artists including; Richard Thompson, Sarah McLachlan, Nick Lowe, Bruce Cockburn, Shawn Colvin and Andy White.

Although born in Vancouver, Stephen spent most of his boyhood and teenage years in Ireland.

There, he picked up the guitar and traces of the Irish and English musical traditions that have informed his music ever since; his musical roots are here and he looks forward to returning, sharing new songs and celebrating his new release with UK fans old and new.

This will be a return visit for Stephen to perform in Dorset.

Ken Watkins has been booking Stephen to perform in Weymouth for over 20 years and the concert on February 17 is Fearing’s only Dorset date on his UK tour.

Ken said: "As a singer, guitarist and songwriter, there is none better."
