A DORSET village is gearing up for the traditional pantomime season.

Milborne St Andrew players present Jack and the Beanstalk this year at Milborne St Andrew Village Hall from February 2 to 4.

All the traditional characters will appear i this production - Dame Trot and Jack are so hard up, they have to sell their cow to a French fairy who surprisingly pays them beans for the cow.

Jill is the beautiful daughter of Lady Lotsadosh and of course Jack falls in love with Jill and of course she falls in love with Jack.

The evil taxmen kidnap Jill and the giant keeps Jill prisoner up the beanstalk.

Jack climbs the beanstalk to retrieve the wealth that is rightly his and to rescue Jill.

*Thursday and Friday performances are at 7.30pm and there are two performances on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
