LAUGH your way into the New Year with the return of Bridport Comedy Café.

The long running comedy night at Bridport Arts Centre returns on Wednesday, January 11 with critically acclaimed BBC Radio 4 regular Jessica Fostekew.

Originally hailing from Dorset, Fostekew is an intensely funny fireball of fun who combines storytelling with great gags.

Fostekew last headlined the comedy café back in 2011, but is now back with a wealth of new material.

As well as a talented live performer, Fostekew has also written for everything from Mock the Week to Have I got News For You, she is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4’s The Now Show and is a familiar face on TV as an actor.

Opening the show will be the multi award-winning Phil Cooper. He can turn the most mundane of occurrences into comic gold, delivering surreal observations on everything from moon landings to his own childhood in Wales.

Completing the line up will be regular local comic Niki McCretton, resident compere Tom Glover and the mysteriously named Alf – a laugh a minute comedy performer with wacky one liners, surreal ideas and mind boggling props.

n Bridport Comedy Café, at the Arts Centre at 8pm on Wednesday, January 11. Tickets cost £8 and are available from the box office.
