MUSICIANS and singers are invited to take part in a non-competitive music festival in Weymouth.

Weymouth Music Festival will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year and entries are urgently required to keep the festival going.

The festival will take place on Saturday March 4 at Budmouth College, Weymouth.

The festival is an all-inclusive platform for live performance and aims to provide a positive, friendly and encouraging environment for all entrants.

The professional adjudicators will give both verbal and written feedback and entrants will also receive a certificate.

Some performers will be invited back to perform in the Festival Concert on Friday March 10 at 7pm also at Budmouth College.

Alistair Dean, chairman of the festival, said: "Dorset has a wonderfully diverse culture of music and we would like to welcome groups and individuals from all ages and abilities to perform at the festival.

"All genres of music and instruments are welcome. We would particularly like to encourage entries from primary schools.

"The festival is open to the public to watch and we encourage performers, family and friends to watch other performances throughout the day."

This year will see the inclusion of a musical theatre category for the first time. Deborah Goody, head of singing at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, will adjudicate this section

Theatre groups, Dance Schools and Vocal Coaches are invited to enter ensembles, individuals and duets in this exciting platform for performance.
