A FREE concert is taking place at the United Church, South Street, Dorchester, on Saturday (3) at 7.30pm to raise funds for the Samaritans' work in Dorset.

The Samaritans are renowned for listening and helping and now need the help of Dorset concertgoers who can come and listen to a free concert.

Included in the Encore Singers' show are songs for Christmas, ballads, show medleys and a timely favourite from Leonard Cohen. The choir will be joined on stage for the concert by guest artists Flutecakes, a Dorchester-based adult flute ensemble, formed in 2012 by former DASP (Dorchester Area Schools Partnership) flute specialist Tracey Green.

All are most welcome at this festive concert and refreshments will be on offer.

The Encore Singers has recently expanded under the direction of Julia McFarlane and says it is looking for a packed audience to help raise funds for the Samaritans of Dorset and fund the charity's vital Christmas work.

There will be a retiring collection on the night in aid of the Samaritans.
