THE nights are now darker and longer but Weymouth theatre goers can get a taste of the summer when one of the most popular shows in the Canary Islands visits tonight.

The Music Hall Tavern theatre show comes to the Pavilion theatre tonight and a limited number of seats are still available.

Billed as The Funniest Night Out of the Year, the popular family themed musical drag review has been playing in the Canary Islands for more than 20 years and has established itself as a firm favourite with UK visitors.

The side-splitting show, which boasts lavishly dazzling costumes, has become one of the hottest tourist attractions in the Canaries with more than 120,000 holidaymakers paying to watch the performers each year.

Featuring the Showcase International Dancers along with live singing, comedy sketches and the music of Take That, Abba, Freddie Mercury, and Riverdance, among many others.

Many of the show’s fans, who range in age from nine to 99, go back year after year and demand from the UK led to the launch of an annual British tour back in 2012.

Thousands of British families watch the show every year across four islands - Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.

Founder, producer and lead cast member Paul Carroll said: “It’s a real feel good show that entertains people of all ages and leaves them wanting more.

“We have families and groups of work mates all enjoying the show from start to finish. The last three tours have sold so well that we just couldn’t resist returning for a fourth.

“I have been overwhelmed by the support we have had both in the Canary Islands and in the UK.”
