A ONE-OF-A-KIND performer with a cascade of vintage glamour and charm in her arsenal is set to tour Dorset.

Lili La Scala will perform vintage cabaret - Songs to make you Smile in the villages of Winterborne Stickland, Broadwindsor, Briantspuddle and Martinstown next month.

This little Diva with the big voice, nicknamed the Songbird of Trafalgar Square, has become a sell-out favourite worldwide.

Her latest offering, the award-winning Songs To Make You Smile is an enthralling, upbeat medley of wartime classics, show tunes and decidedly bright-and-breezy numbers from yesteryear bound to put a spring in your step.

A carefully selected heartwarming set of songs live up to the show title, invoking smiles of recognition for numbers like Makin’ Whoopee and a beautiful rendition of Over The Rainbow.

Interspersed are lesser-known ditties such as a comic song about oysters wishing for a taste of the high life and lambs professing their love for each other no matter whose table they end up!

From American composers Irving Berlin and Cole Porter to British legends Gracie Fields and Vera Lynn, and with a splash of George Formby thrown in for good measure, Lili offers traditional tunes delivered with cabaret sass. Her huge voice and equally big personality won't fail to leave you cheered this winter.

Lili is at Winterborne Stickland Village Hall on December 8. Call 01258 880920 for tickets.
