ALL aboard for the Quangle Wangle Choir's free concert in Dorchester tomorrow (28).

The singers will be performing at Dorset County Museum from 1pm to 2pm.

Inspired by the museum’s nostalgic and evocative exhibition of railway posters, the choir will sing of travel, whether by rail, sea, shanks’ pony – or to the afterlife.

Come and be stirred by a civil rights song or moved by Michael Flanders’ and Donald Swann’s affectionate lament for the age of steam: The Slow Train. Any donations will be welcomed.

This popular Weymouth choir is known for drawing its audience in with its infectious enthusiasm for unaccompanied harmony singing.

Later in the summer, thanks to Louise Donovan and the Heritage Lottery Fund, the choir will be joining in the merriment along the old Somerset and Dorset Railway Line where jolly things are happening in memory of the old 'Slow and Dirty' that closed exactly 50 years ago.

A travelling exhibition, organised by the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust, will be touring venues in Somerset and Dorset during 2016 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the closure of this much loved railway.

Catch the choir’s other mini-concerts at Blandford Forum Corn Exchange on July 30 at 1.30pm and 3.30pm; Shillingstone Railway Station on August 27 at 1.30pm and 3pm; Glastonbury Abbey on September 3 with time to be confirmed; Street at The Alfred Gillett Trust on September 11 at 2pm and 3.30pm; Parkstone on October 22 with venue and time to be confirmed.
