GOODBYE doesn’t always mean forever, and there’s one more hilarious comedy night lined up before Bridport Arts Centre shuts its doors for refurbishments over the summer.

Top-notch comedy fun at Bridport Arts Centre is coming this Saturday, July 23, when some of the finest and funniest comedians come to town.

All compèred by Howard Read, the night features stand-up animation from Little Howard himself, New York’s Abigoliah Schamaun and heavy metal mayhem from Andrew O’Neill.

Laura Cockett, director of Bridport Arts Centre, said: “Saturday night is going to be a big night for Bridport Arts Centre.

“We have a some stellar comedians lined up but it is also the last night before we close until September.”

All the way from New York, Abigoliah Schamaun is the only stand-up/yoga instructor in the business and combines ‘organic’ humour with an open heart chakra.

She grew up in a small rural town in Ohio before moving to the Big Apple to pursue her dream and seek fame and fortune.

But she soon grew tired of the rats, cockroaches and high rent and decided to move to London to be a stand-up comedian. Her experiences have given her plenty of raw material. She was named one of the top five up and coming female comedians by The List.

Howard Read is an award-winning stand-up and writer who’s performed in front of the queen and headlines and MC’s at clubs throughout the UK.

In recent years, he’s been distracted by a hugely successful career in children’s television with animated Little Howard – he wrote, animated and starred in three series of his own show, and now writes for Danger Mouse and Horrible Histories.

Heavy metal, vegan and transvestite stand-up comedian Andrew O’Neill, as seen on Never Mind The Buzzcocks completes the line-up.

Laura said: “We are all very excited about the improvements happening at the arts centre and I can’t wait to re-open this fabulous venue for the people of Bridport at the end of the summer.”
