THE 1975 have announced an arena tour which takes in the BIC on Wednesday, December 21. Tickets are on sale now.

Having sold out London’s The O2 arena in three hours, The 1975 are looking forward to a debut performance at Bournemouth’s biggest venue.

The new shows will form part of a series of concerts that will be toured worldwide, with expanded visuals and a new set list including songs gaining a first outing.

News of the tour comes with the Manchester-based quartet as they released the video to new single Somebody Else, which will be released on August 19, and is taken from the critically acclaimed US and UK number one album, I Like it When You Sleep, For You Are so Beautiful Yet so Unaware of It.

Somebody Else is written by Tynesider Matthew Healy – the son of North-East actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy – and directed by Tim Mattia. The video follows Healy through the murky world of a Lynchian night-time London; struggling with self-obsession in the face of heart-break.

The 1975’s new album is out now on Dirty Hit.

The group consists of Matthew Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Adam Hann (lead guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass), and George Daniel (drums). They all attended Wilmslow High School in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and as teenagers began to play music together in 2002.

The Brit band are now one of the most in demand in the world.
