A SENSATIONAL comedy cabaret string quartet is taking to the stage for Dorchester Arts annual Summer Sunday fundraiser.

The alternative quartet, Graffiti Classics, will be bringing its hilarious and superb show to Whitcombe Manor on Sunday July 24 from 12pm.

Graffiti Classics has 16 strings, eight dancing feet and four voices – but just one aim: to make classical music wickedly funny and fantastically exhilarating.

The quartet is trying to cast off any elitist pre-conceptions about traditional string-quarters with the hilarious show.

The performance is a classical concert, a gypsy-folk romp, an opera, a stand-up comedy set and a brilliant dance show all rolled into one.

Known for their cheeky audience interaction, they never fail to get audiences laughing, clapping and singing along.

Summer Sunday is being hosted by crime author Minette Walters, and her husband Alec Walters in the picturesque setting of their home, Whitcombe Manor, near Dorchester.

The couple hosted the popular fundraiser last year with headliners Instant Sunshine.

Mrs Walters said: “It was wonderful fun to have Instant Sunshine at Whitcombe last year.

“Now I’m much looking forward to welcoming Graffiti Classics this year.

“I’m sure they’ll raise the roof of our beautiful old barn.”
