ANOTHER great brace of plays is on offer with the Dorset Theatre Goers Club.

The first outing is to Save the Last Dance for Me at Victoria Theatre Woking on Saturday, September 24.

Tickets are available at the members’ price of £42 including coach for the matinee, and there’s time for a leisurely lunch and sightseeing beforehand.

The show will take you back through the music and magic of the early 60s.

Written by two of TV’s most talented writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran (Birds of a Feather, Good Night Sweetheart, The New Statesman and many more), this nostalgic, feel-good journey will transport you back to music’s golden era as we follow two teenage sisters through the summer of ’63.

The cast features Antony Costa from boy-band Blue, and 2014 X Factor finalist Lola Saunders. They are joined by West End Stars Elizabeth Carter (Dreamboats and Petticoats) and Wayne Robinson (The Lion King); and a sensational live rock ‘n’ roll band.

Then on Saturday, October 15 the club will visit J B Priestley’s heartily entertaining northern comedy When we are Married at Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames, at the members’ price of £38 including coach.

This is again a matinee and gives you time to explore.

The Helliwells, the Parkers and the Soppitts are highly respected pillars of their community in Cleckleywyke, a town in the West Riding, 1908 – but not for much longer.

Married on the same day in the same chapel, they gather to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. The celebrations are short lived when they discover the vicar wasn’t licensed and they are actually not married. In fact, they have been living in sin for 25 years.

Coaches pick up in Weymouth, Dorchester, Wimborne and Ferndown for the trips.
