ONE of the UK’s most respected songwriters, Charlie Dore, is bringing her own music reflecting her roots-acoustic background to Bridport for a soulful set.

The contemporary folk singer who has enjoyed a multi-faceted career is coming to Bridport Arts Centre tomorrow, on July 1.

Her sensational songs have won two Ascap awards, an Ivor Novello nomination, both the Overall Grand and the Folk Prize from the International Acoustic Music Awards and Best Album Lyrics from the Indy Acoustic Project for her album Cheapskate Lullabyes.

Known for her bittersweet and often quietly subversive lyrics, she is one of a handful of UK writers to have success across many genres, defined by the range of artists to have covered her songs.

Her show is a simply stunning showcase of fresh acoustic sound. Don’t miss her set if you’re wanting to go back to basics of folk.
