THE Pasadena Roof Orchestra is bringing its brand of swing to Weymouth Pavilion on Friday September 23.

The concert is set to immerse the audience into the golden age of swing and will help to raise money for Portland Rotary Club charities.

Join the immaculately presented band under the directorship of the dynamic band-leader and singer, Duncan Galloway and experience classics such as Puttin' on the Ritz, Sweet Georgia Brown and Lullaby of Broadway, to name a few.

Indulge in the finest musical arrangements as these world class musicians take on the greats of swing like George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kerr, Ray Noble and Hoagy Carmichael.

The Pasadena Roof Orchestra is a world class unique formation which was created over 40 years ago. They have performed in major concert houses in London, New York, Dubai, Berlin, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.

This year so far they have appeared in Germany, Poland and the USA while continuing a busy schedule of appearances around the UK. Recently they have performed to a packed audience at Cadogan Hall, London.

Mark Townsend, president of Portland Rotary Club said: "Portland Rotary Club was chartered in 1976 and our members are always thinking of innovative ways to raise money for local and international charities.

"To have an internationally recognised and world class orchestra helping is phenomenal. We look forward to an evening of great musicianship and also fine attire should audience members decide they want to dress in the style of the period to add to the occasion.

"We are very grateful to Weymouth Pavilion who are also supporting this charity fundraiser."

So warm to the rhythms, fun and melodies of this happy era and enter into the spirit by puttin' on your top hat, tyin' up your white tie and brushin' off your tails.
