LOCAL talent will play a major role in a touring show coming to Weymouth.

Summer Dreaming pays tribute to iconic music from the 1950s and 60s and comes to Weymouth Pavilion on July 2.

The homage features students from Razzamataz Theatre School based in Weymouth.

Musical theatre stalwart Julian Essex-Spurrier continues to lead the production having played numerous iconic leading roles including Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever, Rocky in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Riff in West Side Story and Rusty in Starlight Express.

Relive the good old days with the Summer Dreaming gang as they take you back to a time of jiving, soda shops and high school hops. It’s a highly interactive roller coaster of 50s and 60s fun and frolics. Leave your troubles at the door, find your inner Teddy Boy or Girl, and sing along!

The director said: “I’m thrilled that we have the Razzamataz students returning for this very special evening.

"We believe it’s very important to give local talent a platform.

"This is a brand new concert for the UK celebrating iconic music from the 50s and 60s.

"There’s nothing better than immersing yourself in the music that you love. To feel all of the nostalgia.

"We like to get the crowd involved. For us, it’s the audience who are the most important people in the room. It’s loads of fun.”
