WALK THROUGH DURLSTON COUNTRY PARK

SWANAGE

FOR a great day out this weekend, head to Swanage for a two mile family friendly coastal walk along the South West Coast Path through Durlston Country Park to explore Durlston castle and grounds.

Starting your walk from Swanage town centre, enjoy soup in a flask to warm you on the hills overlooking Swanage Bay by Peveril Point, before heading into the woods of the country park.

The route to the castle is easy to follow through the woods and at the end you’ll be rewarded with views from the Victorian castle of the Jurassic coast before warming yourself in the visitor’s centre of the castle and café.

Enjoy tea and cake before exploring the interactive wildlife displays and learning more about creatures great and small spotted in the castle grounds.

This weekend the castle has a free exhibition, The Miracle of Migration, for visitors to enjoy and learn about the annual migration of birds, butterflies and moths.

Durlston castle is open from 10am to 4pm. For more information call 01929 424443.
