LEGENDARY DJ, radio and television presenter David Hamilton is inviting people to spend Valentine's Day with him.
David 'Diddy' Hamilton is firing up his diddymobile to bring his Rock 'n' Roll Back the Years show to Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday. (14)
The former Radio 1 presenter said: "This is a tribute to the music that everybody grew up with.
"I've got one of the bands I worked with on Sunday Night at the London Palladium performing.
"I think this show is very different because in between the songs I tell stories about people I have worked with.
"I compered the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and David Cassidy's tour in the 1970s."
There will also be a poignant moment of reflection in the show with David paying tribute to his late Radio 1 and 2 colleagues Ed Stewart and Sir Terry Wogan.
"In the last month it has been devastating to lose them both.
"We do a little tribute by playing Morningtown Ride which was the theme tune for Ed's Junior Choice. One of our bands, the Tiffany Girls, leant it within three or four days and it is quite a lump in the throat moment for me when it is performed.
"I was at Radio 2 with Terry and appeared on Blankety Blank with him. Terry was a great laugh and nobody had anything bad to say about him."
Sussex resident David said the show will also have plenty of laughs and there will be the chance to get up and dance and have a sing along.
Weymouth holds special memories for David, having hosted a Seaside Special in the resort which featured The Three Degrees.
"I know Weymouth well. When I was a boy my mother rented a house in Osmington. I can remember visiting the village and seeing the old cottages as you come into the village with the church on your left.
"I've got pictures of my mother at the cottage and although she's no longer with us I'll go back there when I'm in Weymouth for the show and remember her."
The show starts at 7.30pm. Contact Weymouth Pavilion Box Office for tickets for David Hamilton's Rock 'n' Roll Back the Years.
