A GROUP of acclaimed performers will return to rural west Dorset this week with a brand new show.

The Devil's Violin will present The Forbidden Door at Broadoak Village Hall - returning to the Artsreach programme following 2013 show A Love Like Salt.

The Devil’s Violin has been breathing new life into the ancient art of storytelling since 2006 and for this tour, musicians Sarah Moody, Oliver-Wilson Dickson and Dylan Fowler are joined by storyteller and spoken word performer Dominic Kelly - who is a regular on the storytelling scene across Europe and curates Lancaster’s popular literary festival.

Prepare for an evocative and enchanting evening of rich and dynamic storytelling accompanied by visceral, melodic live music that will stay with you for some time.

What would you sacrifice for the one you love? How far is too far?

Whatever you do, don't open that door. As soon as the rule is laid down, we know it will be broken. Once the door is opened, then what? It could be anything from love, loss, drama, danger, horror, humour, twists and trials.

The show is suitable for those aged 12 years and older.

The Forbidden Door will be performed at Broadoak Village Hall tomorrow (5) at 7.30pm. For more information, please call 01308 424922.

On Saturday, the show will also take place at St Nicholas' Church in Sandford Orcas at 7.3pm and on Sunday at Martinstown Village Hall at 8pm.
