A BLUES trio will return to Bridport this weekend - bring with them a range of eclectic influences.

Wille and the Bandits will take to the stage at Bridport Arts Centre on Saturday (6) - following on from their performance at the west Dorset venue last year.

The audience can expect a classic blues rock three-piece much in the vain of Cream or The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Just as those renowned bands pushed the genre in their time at the top, Wille and the Bandits have built a reputation for taking their sound beyond what is expected of them.

The use of more bizarre instruments and eclectic influences in the group's songwriting often pushes them more into a world music or progressive category. Having toured with artists such as Deep Purple through to the John Butler Trio and played major festivals across Europe - the band seem to leave an equally astounding impression on audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds with their energetic and soulful performances.

They have received great critical acclaim, being voted in the top ten must see bands at Glastonbury Festival by BBC Radio 1. Bob Harris is a big fan and they are regularly given airtime on BBC Radio 2. They reached number two in the UK blues chart with their first single on downloads alone.

Now touring their third independently released studio album, Wille and the Bandits' fan base, repertoire of tunes, styles and innovation seems to be growing at an exponential rate and no doubt will be bringing music lovers of Bridport with them.

The performance will start at 8pm. For more information, please call 01308 424204.
