THE LIFE of a musical king will be celebrated in Bridport next week.

Graeme Oxby will present a range of photographs at Bridport Arts Centre in an exhibition called The Kings of England.

After almost 40 years following the death of Elvis Presley in 1977, the king's life and music is still celebrated widely across the UK and the world. Elvis remains one of the most recognisable pop culture figures, popular with young people as well as a largely ageing audience.

The latest exhibition at Bridport Arts Centre opens on Saturday (28) and it celebrates the king of rock 'n' roll himself. Photographer Graeme Oxby presents a collection of weird and wonderful characters that span ages, cultures and countries.

There are rumoured to be 85,000 Elvis impersonators around the world and visitors can get a glimpse of the best in this new show in the Allsop Gallery.

Oxby will share with visitors, impersonators he has come across along his travels, including a 14 year old Roma Gypsy, a 40 year old Italian civil servant and a German Elvis with his own UK fan club.

The exhibition will be on shop at the Allsop Gallery from Saturday (28) until Saturday, December 19. The gallery in open from Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 10am until 4pm.
