THE JURASSIC Coast will feature in an illustrated talk at this year's Bridport Literary Festival.

The event will return for the 11th time next month (Nov) and will include Patrick Barkham giving an illustrated talk on his latest book, Coastlines: The Story of our Shore at The Bull Hotel on November 11.

The book tells the story of a series of walks around the 742 miles of the coastline of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Dorset's Jurassic Coast features prominently in the new book which is aimed at all those who enjoy walking and exploring and want to learn fascinating tales of ancient conquests and smugglers' routes, exotic migrating birds and bucket and spade holidays.

Also confirmed for the Bridport Literary Festival is Harry Mount, who will step back into ancient Greece and track the civilisation at its height and explore the backcloth to what is now modern Greece, and its recent political and economic dramas.

Harry Mount's Odyssey will be discussed at The Bull Hotel on November 12.

Home-grown author Fergus Byrne will be in conversation with Paul Lashmar at the Electric Palace on November 13, speaking about his authorised biography of the maverick publisher, the late Felix Dennis. His book, More Lives Than One: The Extraordinary Life of Felix Dennis, charts the highs and lows of the publishing giant - whose most popular flagship brand, This Week, is still read by millions.
