WEST End show Avenue Q arrives in Dorset next week.

Packed with mischief, political incorrectness and bad behaviour; this irresistibly charming musical tells the story of loveable characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life’s burning issues.

It will be at the Pavilion, Bournemouth, from Monday August 10 to Saturday August 15.

The cheeky musical is packed full of bad behaviour and political incorrectness.

Before the shows begin, cast members went out and about to meet the people of Bournemouth.

With Kate Monster and Trekkie Monster puppets on their arms and mischief in their eyes, Bournemouth was in for a treat.

Inside the auditorium, cast members Douglas Walker and Felicity Wright, accompanied by some of their felt co-stars posed for photos and answered questions before flipping seamlessly into character and heading out into town to cause some trouble.

Douglas and Felicity along with their puppet ‘better halves’ Nicky and the aptly named Lucy The Slut sprang into life in the centre of the Bournemouth Gardens as they mingled with passersby.

After a tentative start, the public quickly warmed to the loveable rogues... and their puppets!

Children, families, holiday-makers and students all took the opportunity to chat to Nicky and Douglas whilst a suspiciously large number of men took more of a liking to Lucy and Felicity – one even insisted on a photograph with the pair and said: “I’ve definitely pulled here!”

Rain called a premature halt to the excitement and the puppets had to disappear quickly with a promise of an even bigger return in the not too distant future!

With talent in abundance, both in the flesh and felt members of the cast, the hilarious Avenue Q is guaranteed to be the one to watch this summer.

You really would be a Muppet to miss it!

This production is suitable for those aged 14 and above.
