LOCAL talent will get a chance to shine at a Dorset festival.
Grooves on the Green at Ashley Cross from July 11 to 12 will feature three-piece Plastic Jeezus and the raw talent of The Power Thief on The Calling Stage.
Plastic Jeezus are Simon (ukulele), Aaraon (bass) and Dave (drums).
Although they’re still at school, The Power Thief revel in an edgy R&B sound that suggests they are very au fait with mid-60s albums by The Beatles and Kinks among others.
Grooves on the Green runs from 12pm until 7pm on July 11 and 12 at Ashley Cross Green with music on two stages, a local beer and food festival, kidzone and mini film festival.
Saturday’s Main Stage is topped by Bournemouth-based funk groove machine The Baker Brothers with slinky jazz/d&b fusionists G13, Afro-Cubano-reggae mixers Afro Tallawah, south coast funk folk Sunstone Collective, jazz-soul-blues chanteuse Kaia and local busking favourites Krista Green & the Bees also appearing.
