WEYMOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL - 1 to 4 May 2015

After a record breaking 10th anniversary last year, the annual Weymouth Dance Festival looks set to continue into its second decade becoming bigger and better than ever. This year the highly popular feast of outstanding talent from the across the region will be held once again in the Bay Theatre at Weymouth College from 1 to 4 May 2015. Spectators can expect a weekend packed with fabulous dancing, colourful costumes and great entertainment.

The Festival will be welcoming over 250 young dancers between the ages of 3 and19 from across the South West, many of whom return year after year to showcase their talents and compete for cups and medals. Demand for places this year has been so great that the Festival has been oversubscribed for the second year running.

Hundreds of dances will be performed during the course of the weekend by both soloists and groups in styles ranging from Ballet, Tap, Modern and Contemporary to Character, Song & Dance, National and Classical Greek.

The Festival offers a valuable performance platform for young dancers, some of whom will undoubtedly go on to become future stars in the entertainment industry. This year we shall be welcoming nationally recognised All England adjudicator Mr Geoff Lucas to select the winners. Adjudicators in previous years have commented on the wealth of talent in our area and the outstanding standards achieved.

The Festival opens at 6.00pm on Friday 1st May and continues from 9.00am on Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th. Performances continue until 9pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the Festival ends with the presentation of the adjudicator’s choice awards at 7.45pm on Monday.

Tickets - available on the door only - are priced at just £2.50 per session and only £1 for concessions with Day (3 session) Tickets costing only £6.
