A FOLK duo will bring their UK tour to Bridport tomorrow (20) - hot on the heels of their critically-acclaimed new album.

Awash with ethereal vocals and intricate guitar playing, Josienne Clarke and Ben Walker have launched a fresh and dazzling sound to the UK folk scene releasing one melancholic earful after another. As a result, their new album, Nothing Can Bring Back the Hour, was one of the most anticipated folk releases of the year. The album lead to rave reviews and they have been nominated for Best Duo and Best Album at the BBC 2 Folk Awards next month.

The duo will take to the stage at Bridport Arts Centre on Friday at 8pm - where they will astonish audiences with their ageless stories of love and loss.

Both musicians are classically trained and their musical proficiency is beyond doubt. But for them it is not about musical accomplishment, it is about the songs. Whether interpreting centuries old words, or singing her own lyrics, Josienne's jewel-like voice finds the nuance and melancholy in the simplest phrase and effortlessly sends it straight to your heart.

Ben's musical tact and mastery of the guitar provide the perfect setting and give the songs centre-stage. Josienne was born in Sussex and Ben, in Evesham. It was after studying in London, and utterly by chance, that they met in July 2009. They have been working together ever since.

The duo have played together alongside many folk idols including Martin Simpson and Steve Tilston, and are well on their way to becoming the hottest ticket in folk music.

Bridport Audiences can expect a live performance premiere of the new album in its entirety.
