THE HEADLINERS have been announced for this year's Lyme Regis Jazz & Blues Weekend.
Dr Feelgood and Maggie Bell will headline the event at the Marine Theatre in May - with tickets due to go on sale later this month.
Acclaimed R & B act Dr Feelgood was founded in the 1970s and remains one of the most exciting live acts in the country, achieving cult status with a large and devoted fan base. Their raucous, raw and uncompromising style resulted in their live album Stupidity becoming an instant number one in the UK album charts. The band will bring the weekend to a close on Sunday May 31.
Maggie Bell, who has played alongside acts including Rod Stewart and Earth, Wing and Fire will take to the stage on the Saturday night, with Dave Kelly of the Blues Band and the undisputed king of the slide guitar - to belt out her own distinctive brand of the blues.
Festival organiser Julie Sheppard said: "We're very excited that we've managed to secure two such strong acts as headliners.
"Maggie Bell is a bit of a rock blues icon and it's great that she's now touring again. Dave Kelly is acknowledged as one of Europe's top blues guitarists, so together, we're in for a real treat.
"Dr Feelgood has a reputation for delivering blistering live performances of British R&B so you'll need to get your dancing shoes on for Sunday night."
