THIS weekend there is a chance to see BAFTA-nominated film Kajaki and ask its Weymouth executive producer Gareth Unwin some questions.
Weymouth Cineworld is screening Kajaki: The True Story on Sunday from 2.10pm. After the movie Gareth will take questions from the audience.
For those who can’t make the Sunday screening, there will be a final chance to see Kajaki at Weymouth Cineworld on Tuesday at 8.10pm.
Based on a true story, the film tells the story of a small group of soldiers on a routine patrol in Helmand who become trapped in a mine-laden riverbed.
The film has been nominated for a BAFTA in the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer category.
Director and producer Paul Katis and producer Andrew De Lotbiniere are up for the award, competing against Pride, Northern Soul, ’71 and Lilting.
Gareth, of Bedlam Film Productions, studied at Weymouth College and was part of the Oscar-winning team behind the King’s Speech, starring Colin Firth.
The winners of the British Academy film awards will be announced on February 8.
