A trio of folk performers will take their vocal harmonies on a mini-tour around Dorset.

Hannah James, Hazel Askew and Rowan Rheingans make up Lady Maisery – who will embark on four dates across Dorset later this month.

Lady Maisery released their debut album, Weave & Spin, in 2012 – and were nominated for a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award.

The collective released their critically-acclaimed second album, Mayday, in 2013. As well as enchanting audiences with innovative reworkings of old songs and ballads, Lady Maisery break new ground as one of the first UK acts to explore the tradition of diddling or tune singing – which has almost died out in England, but is still popular is parts of Europe.

Whether singing unaccompanied or with backing by intelligent, striking arrangements on the fiddle, harp, banjo, accordion and foot percussion – audiences can expect to enjoy the rich harmonies and sumptuous clashes as Lady Maisery emerge as one of the most original new groups on the UK folk scene.

The group will perform at Piddletrenthide Memorial Hall on Thursday, January 22, Frampton village hall on Friday, January 23, Sturminster Marshall Memorial Hall on Saturday, January 24 and Durweston village hall on Sunday, January 25.
