A FEAST of film and theatre is coming up at the Electric Palace in Bridport this month.

The Old Vic’s The Crucible will be shown on Thursday at 7pm and on Sunday, December 7 at 12noon.

Richard Armitage stars in Arthur Miller’s classic American drama brought vividly to life in this visceral new production by internationally acclaimed director Yaël Farber.

In a small tight-knit community, personal grievances collide with lust and superstition, fuelling widespread hysteria.

Miller’s timeless parable attacks the evils of mindless persecution and the terrifying power of false accusations.

Richard Armitage’s credits include the forthcoming film Into the Storm. Other film and TV credits include The Hobbit trilogy, Captain America: The First Avenger and Spooks.

One Rogue Reporter is showing on Friday at 7.30pm.

Recovering tabloid hack Rich Peppiatt delivers a mercilessly satirical dissection of his former trade by turning the tables on unscrupulous newspaper bosses.

The National Theatre’s verbatim dance-theatre work by Lloyd Newson, JOHN, suitable for those aged 18 and over, is on Tuesday, December 9 at 7pm.

Newson interviewed more than 50 men asking them frank questions, initially about love and sex. One of those men was John.

The most traditional of Christmas films, It’s A Wonderful Life, is showing on Thursday, December 18 from 7.30pm.

Doors for this free event open at 6.30pm and there will be mince pies and mulled wine.

Tickets for all screenings are available through Bridport TIC on 01308 424901.
