THERE are more chances to see The New Hardy Players’ performance of Wessex Scenes later this month.
It will be performed at the at the Hope Chapel in Weymouth on September 20, the Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne, on September 24 and The Exchange, Sturminster Newton, on September 27.
Wessex Scenes is a re-enactment of a presentation made by the original Hardy Players, which was performed just once at Weymouth Pavilion in 1916 to support the work of the Red Cross This work by Thomas Hardy was written in 1916, halfway through the First World War. It was culled by Hardy from his longer dramatic work, The Dynasts’ The play is directed by Tim Laycock and Emma Hill.
