ONE of the only two remaining cast members of the classic series Dad’s Army, are to reveal some of the secrets behind the show at The Regent Theatre in Christchurch.
Frank Williams, who played the eccentric vicar who tried to come to terms with the elderly platoon’s invasion of his beloved church hall, is stopping at the Dorset theatre on Sunday, August 10 at 4pm as part of his national chat show tour. Now 83, Frank said: “It’s been simply wonderful to be part of something so special. Although I have spent many years in various film and television roles, being part of Dad’s Army is hard to beat. When we started all those years ago, Ian Lavender and I were the youngest members of the cast. It’s odd now that we are the only two left.”
Frank will be reliving some of the fascinating and hilarious highlights of a film, stage and television career spanning over 50 years.
