CURIOUSLY fused fruit is the key ingredient in creating new west Dorset vodka Porter’s Perfection.

The new tipple from Liberty Fields has been produced in Bridport at Liberty Farm.

The team started out by planting 12 acres of orchards with traditional local apple varieties, and is using these to explore the taste of apples and create unique food and drink products, including its popular Apple Aperitif. The Porter’s Perfection used to make the new vodka, is a deep red heritage apple remarkable for its taste and curiously fused fruits.

The vodka aims to “capture the essence of this unusual fruit” and is handmade in small batches.

A farm spokesman said: “When we started looking at producing a vodka, we experimented with some of our many different varieties and discovered that Porter’s Perfection is the ideal partner.

The vodka will officially be launched at the Venner Bar in the Bull Hotel, Bridport, on May 5.
