VISITORS and locals alike have been braving the cold weather to venture into Weymouth for some delicious feasting.

With the six-week Feast festival coming to an end this weekend, festival organisers have said that people are being drawn into the town by the delicious and diverse menus.

The event runs until November 13, so there’s still time to try some of the tasty foodie offerings.

Paul Cocks, owner of Café Oasis, said: “Feast has so far been a tremendous success. We have seen a real surge in bookings and a lot of new customers, at a time of year where evenings can be in decline. I'm really pleased and hope you will do it again next year.”

Organisers said that the FEAST message is also being heard further afield with The Spice Ship in Preston. The pub is now in its second year of participation and is seeing more customers taking up their delicious menu.

Wendy Buckingham, from the pub said: “FEAST is going amazingly well again for The Spice Ship. We have had lots of people saying our menu is extremely good value at only £15 for a delicious two course meal.”

Sophie Kermani, Director of In The Bag PR said: “Anyone can get involved.

“If you are within the BID levy area, then you don’t have to pay anything for your venue to participate. But anyone outside of the levy area has to contribute a small fee.

“It is wonderful to be involved with an event that brings people into the town through a traditionally quiet period. The support from everyone involved has been incredible. It is a great event for our town and we look forward to many more venues taking part next year.”

The full list of menus is available to view on our website, dorsetecho.co.uk.

Each venue in the FEAST Weymouth promotion is offering a set menu or offer within the price ranges of £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25 for customers to dine at their establishment throughout the promotion. Each venue will have their own terms and conditions so diners are encouraged to call ahead and book.

Fleetline Taxis are offering 10 per cent off to anyone quoting FEAST during the promotion.
