THE NO 4 restaurant in Weymouth has been re-launched with a new look and a menu developed by an expert European chef.

Joining the harbourside restaurant, which was previously the Oasis bistro and wine room on Trinity Road, is Jason Hall who has created the contemporary and artisan seafood menu which will feature locally-sourced seafood and ingredients, something that restaurant owner, solicitor and president of Weymouth and Portland Chamber of Commerce Michelle Hind, firmly believes in.

Michelle said: “This is going to be primarily a high class seafood restaurant.

“Looking at the market we have realised what the demands are locally - we need to have a fantastic sea food restaurant in the town.”

Michelle said: “Chef Jason Hall came highly recommended to me, I had to encourage him to leave his prestigious position in the French Alps to take up this role, needless to say I am delighted he is on board and I know he will bring his extensive knowledge and expertise to No. 4.

“He came on board straight away, we both shared ideas and realised that we wanted to create the same thing.” She said.

Jason Hall grew up in Weymouth and worked within the Weymouth restaurant community as a head chef at Floods before spending time in Europe on the QE2 and in boutique hotels in the French Alps.

He is also a member of the world society of master chefs and guild of master chefs. Jason has helped restaurants be awarded several AA rosettes.

Jason says “How could I refuse the offer to return to my home town to showcase my knowledge and passion of seafood?”

Those who attended the VIP re-launch were treated to a glass of champagne on arrival and four dishes to give guests a taste of the new menu including crude de mere, escargot and bouillabaisse.

Local singer and guitar player Louisa Gracey Glanville also treated the guests to musical entertainment for the evening a ceremonial ribbon was cut to celebrate the restaurants new status.
