Discovery arrives in the delightful Wester Ross fishing port of Ullapool. This is a stepping stone to the Western Isles and the breathtaking North West Highlands, which include Torridon's granite massifs and dramatic, remote Ben Assynt. Step ashore to explore, or take an excursion to discover some of Britain's most awe-inspiring scenery.
Today Discovery docks in Kirkwall. Explore the historic capital of Orkney, and visit its magnificent centrepiece, St Magnus Cathedral. A mile away are the waters of Scapa Flow, where HMS Royal Oak sank in WW2. Shore excursions will include the chance to discover highlights of the island's unique mix of history, archaeology, crafts and wildlife.
Tiny Torshavn, capital of the remote Faroe Islands, welcomes us today. These islands have a deep-rooted Norse tradition and are home to countless bird species. Today, you might cross the famous 'Bridge across the Atlantic', which connects Streymoy, the main island, with smaller Eysturoy, home to wooden churches and spectacular scenery.
Today, we visit Stornoway, capital of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. These beautiful, unspoilt islands, inhabited continuously for over 6,000 years, retain a rich, timeless culture. Explore the town, or join the excursion to the mysterious Standing Stones at Callanish, thought to be nearly 4,000 years old.
Return to Greenock, at the end of this wonderful cruise.
An optional return coach transfer to Greenock is available.
*The exact discount available will vary depending on cruise, cabin and departure date selected. All cabin prices shown when booking include their discount amount. Discounts apply to all cabin categories. Offer ends midnight 5th June 2013.
