ALL the fun of Bridport Carnival could not happen without the hard work carried out behind the scenes by the town's dedicated carnival committee.

They work tirelessly all year round to ensure a fun and safe weekend of events for all the family.

Every little detail must be sorted out before the big day, whether it's liaising with the police and marshals, organising licences for the public events, bars and fireworks or getting to grips with the legal and safety issues.

The endless list of tasks includes sorting out signs and helpers, organising the carnival programme, arranging the search for a carnival princess, repainting the carnival princess float, organising entries and judging for the big parade and of course counting up all the money after the event (with a willing team of volunteer helpers).

A big thank you goes to all the committee and all carnival helpers who have made Bridport Carnival such a huge success.
