Here you will find all the information you need about our carnival and the organising committee.
Each year Bridport Carnival is a highlight of the town's calendar.
The fun packed extravaganza includes a grand procession held on the third Saturday of August each year. Last year's
procession was a record breaker with more entries than in recent memory.
Other actvities include carnival darts, carnival golf, a grand car boot sale, carnival fete and a fun fair at Asker
Meadows as well as the traditional Sunday evening torchlight parade from Bridport to West Bay.
This awesome spectacle involves 1,500 blazing torches being carried by families as they snake their way to the Bay for a
celebration with live music and fireworks.
This week the carnival prince and princesses will be chosen at a special ceremony in Bridport. And you can help the judges
choose the winning princesses by having your say here. See Carnival News for details.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in 2007 and helped make the event such a success. We would
also like to thank all the businesses who sponsored and back our events each year, especially Austen Whetham and Guest
solicitors, Bridport, who were our main sponsor for 2007. The 2008 sponsor is Fowler Trading Estates.
This year Bridport Carnival is on Saturday August 16 and the fete and torchlight parade on Sunday August 17, 2008.
Our committee is already working hard behind the scenes to ensure this year will be another great success. Keep checking
here for updates and the latest news, and we look forward to seeing you all again for another weekend of good family fun!
